Centers for Disease Control, Fort Collins

Since July 2015, Abraxas has been providing building operations and maintenance support for the 18 acre Centers for Disease Control and Prevention campus in Fort Collins, Colorado. The campus supports extensive research and prevention programs as well as national bioterrorism preparedness and response programs related to vector-borne diseases.

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Facility Energy Assessment, San Francisco Medical Center

Abraxas Energy Consulting conducted a facility energy assessment (EA) project for the VA Medical Center in San Francisco, California in August 2014. There were 40 buildings in the scope of this project at the facility, 6 major and 34 minor buildings, encompassing a total of 1,022,692 square feet. The purpose of the EA program was to assist the VA Department in identifying cost effective energy and water conservation measures and thus fulfill the goal of reducing energy costs and the greenhouse gas footprint of this VA campus.

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Retro-Commissioning, George H. O’Brien, Jr. Medical Center

Abraxas Energy Consulting conducted a retro-commissioning (RCx) project for the VA Medical Center in Big Spring, Texas in September 2014. There were 13 buildings in the scope of this project at the facility being the largest and main one a 282,280 square foot hospital that now serves as a medical clinic. There were other 14 buildings under 30,000 square foot, most of them used as either medical or administration offices. The purpose of the RCx program was to assist the VA Department in optimizing the operation of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems in all the buildings under study and thus fulfill the goals of reducing energy costs and bringing equipment to its proper operational state. The program provided simple repairs that were completed as part of the contract as well as cost effective improvements that could be later implemented.

Abraxas Energy Consulting conducted a facility energy assessment (EA)) project for the VA Medical Center in Palo Alto, California in August 2014. There were 22 buildings in the scope of this project at the facility, 7 major and 14 minor buildings, encompassing a total of 1,080,712 square feet. The purpose of the EA program was to assist the VA Department in identifying cost effective energy and water conservation measures and thus fulfill the goal of reducing energy costs and the greenhouse gas footprint of this VA campus.

Navy Bureau of Medicine, Facility Energy Audit, Naval Medical Clinic Portsmouth

Abraxas Energy Consulting conducted an energy assessment for Portsmouth Naval Medical Clinic in Portsmouth, Virginia in November 2013. There are 2 buildings in the scope of this project at this facility: a 121,236 square foot medical clinic and a 67,400 square foot dental clinic. The goal of the audit was to assist Portsmouth in identifying and developing energy investment initiatives that achieved the federally required energy reductions.
