ASHRAE Level 1 – Walk Through Analysis

LEED Building

In the ASHRAE Level 1 energy audit, we report how much in energy and energy costs can be saved from the energy conservation opportunities we find. We often perform ASHRAE Level 1 energy audits for clients who are seeking LEED-EB certification status.

ASHRAE Level 1 energy audits are required as a prerequisite to attain LEED-EB certification status.

ASHRAE Level 2 – Energy Survey and Analysis

ASHRAE Level 2 energy audits are more detailed than Level 1 energy audits. We often perform ASHRAE Level 2 energy audits for clients who are seeking LEED-EB certification status. ASHRAE Level 2 energy audits are sometimes selected by our clients as it is less expensive than Retro-Commissioning.

ASHRAE Level 2 energy audits are worth 2 points (LEED-EB Credit 2.1, Option B)

Retro-Commissioning

Retro-Commissioning (RCx) focuses on non-capital-intensive energy conservation opportunities. RCx requires more in-depth investigation of the building’s HVAC system and requires extensive data logging and energy audit analysis.

RCx is worth 2 points (LEED-EB Credit EA 2.1, Option A)

From our Energy Audits and/or Retro-Commissioning work, you may be able to increase your Energy Star Rating and gain up to 12 points (LEED-EB Credit EA 1)
