MarketManager » Modeling HVAC Systems
Q: Do I always have to model a supply fan?

A:

In earlier versions, MarketManager required you to attach a supply fan to all systems, even when you were not modeling a system with a supply fan—i.e., a heat pump system.

As per MarketManager you no longer need a supply fan--if you omit it, the program simply "fakes one" internally of the appropriate size (equal to sum of zone supply air quantities), but assumes 0 fan energy use.

MarketManager does forgive the lack of a supply fan for truly zonal systems, such as PTAC, AAHP, UV, FC, IHP, GSHP, ECHP, Hydronic, Radiant Heating, Room air heaters, and maybe 1 or 2 more.
